TwinType Website Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 March 2026
TwinType Foundry LLC (“we”, “us” or “TwinType”) cares about your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and look after your information when you visit twintype.co and its sub‑domains (together, “the Site”), or when you get in touch with us, subscribe to updates or take part in activities through the Site.
1. Scope of this policy
This privacy policy applies to personal information and related records that are provided or generated when you use the Site, including when:
- You browse pages on the Site, download files or use the online services we provide.
- You fill in contact forms, subscribe to newsletters, register for events or request trials / service information.
- You contact us via email or any other contact details published on the Site.
The Site may contain links to third‑party websites or services (for example, payment providers or social platforms). Their own privacy policies apply to those services, and this policy does not cover how they handle your information.
2. Why we collect information and what we collect
When you use certain parts of the Site (for example, to subscribe to a newsletter, submit a contact form or request information), we may ask you to provide some personal details. We only collect what we reasonably need, and use it for clearly defined purposes, including:
- Customer contact and support – such as your name, company name, role or job title, phone number, email address, and any information you choose to include in your enquiry or feedback.
- Updates, events and marketing (with your consent) – for example, sending newsletters, event information or updates about typefaces, products and services.
- Running and securing the Site – server‑generated technical logs such as IP address, device and browser type, language settings, pages visited and time spent on the Site, used to keep the Site secure and improve how it performs.
If you’re just browsing the Site and downloading publicly available documents, we don’t ask you for information that directly identifies you as an individual.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
To make the Site work better for you, we may use cookies and similar technologies in your browser to:
- Remember your preferences (such as language) and make the Site easier to use.
- Help us understand overall traffic patterns and how visitors use the Site, so we can improve layout and content.
These insights are based on aggregated statistics – they’re not used to identify or profile individual visitors.
If you’d rather not accept cookies, you can change your browser settings to block or delete them. Please note that some features of the Site may not work properly or may be less convenient without cookies.
4. Server logs and technical information
When you access the Site through a browser or other client, our servers automatically generate and store certain technical information, which may include:
- The date and time of your visit, and your IP address.
- The type and version of your browser, operating system and language settings.
- The website that referred you to the Site (referrer), the pages you view and how long you stay on them.
We use these logs to monitor how the Site is running, investigate security incidents, compile traffic statistics and improve service quality. We don’t use them to analyse the behaviour of individual visitors or to build individual profiles.
5. How we use and retain your personal information
- How we use it – We handle your personal information, whether by automated or manual means, only to the extent reasonably necessary and lawful, for example to respond to your enquiry, provide service information, or send you newsletters and updates you’ve agreed to receive. Processing may take place in regions where we operate or where our servers are hosted.
- How long we keep it – We retain your information for as long as it’s needed to achieve the purposes it was collected for, or for the period required under applicable laws. Once that period ends or the purpose no longer applies, we follow internal procedures to delete, de‑identify or otherwise safely handle your information.
- No unexpected uses – Unless we’re required by law or you’ve clearly agreed otherwise, we won’t use your personal information for purposes that are materially different from the original reason we collected it.
6. When we share information with others
As a general rule, we don’t sell, trade, rent or otherwise disclose your personal information to unrelated third parties. However, we may share limited information in the following situations, but only to the extent reasonably necessary:
- Legal and regulatory requirements – when required to comply with applicable laws, court orders or lawful requests from authorities.
- Protecting people and rights – where we genuinely believe it’s necessary to protect you or other users, our organisation or third parties from harm, or to prevent, detect or respond to serious unlawful activity.
- Service providers and partners – when we engage trusted third‑party providers to help us operate the Site, send emails, host or analyse data and perform related services. In these cases, we only share what’s needed for them to perform their services, and we require them to keep your information confidential, apply appropriate security measures and not use it for their own purposes.
7. Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps, in line with industry practice, to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. Measures may include, for example:
- Hosting on servers and cloud services with access controls in place.
- Restricting staff access to personal information based on role and need‑to‑know.
That said, no method of transmitting or storing information over the internet is completely risk‑free. We can’t guarantee absolute security, so we encourage you to avoid sending highly sensitive information to us over unencrypted channels when using the Site.
8. Your rights and how to exercise them
Depending on the privacy laws that apply where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights in relation to personal information we hold about you:
- To ask whether we hold information about you and request access to it.
- To request a copy of your information.
- To ask us to correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information.
- To ask us to stop collecting, processing or using your information in certain ways.
- To ask us to delete your information, subject to legal and contractual requirements.
If you’d like to exercise any of these rights, or if you have questions about how we handle privacy, please use the contact details in section 11 below. We may need to take reasonable steps to verify your identity before actioning your request, to help protect your privacy and security.
If you’ve previously agreed to receive marketing emails or newsletters from us, you can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in those emails or by contacting us directly.
9. Accounts, passwords and keeping details current (where applicable)
If we introduce accounts or login‑only areas on the Site in the future, your account and password will be used to help identify you. To keep things secure, we ask that you:
- Keep your account details and password confidential and don’t share them with anyone else.
- Log out and close your browser when you’re finished, especially on shared or public devices.
- Provide information that’s accurate, current and complete, and update it when it changes so that we can continue to provide services correctly.
If you provide information that is false or infringes the rights of others, or if you seriously breach applicable laws, this policy or any site terms of use, we may suspend or stop providing relevant services and, where appropriate, exercise any rights available to us under law.
10. Changes to this policy and governing law
- Changes to this policy – We may update this policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in law, our services or how we operate. When we do, we’ll publish the updated version on this page and note the updated date above. If the changes are significant, we may also highlight them on the Site or use other appropriate ways to let you know.
- Governing law and jurisdiction – How this policy is interpreted and applied, and any disputes arising out of or relating to it, will generally be governed by the laws of the place where our main business operations are based, and heard by the courts of that place. The exact details may be updated in line with our future business registrations and legal requirements.
